FOODEX Japan 2023

Japan continues to be the fourth largest market for U.S. exporters of food and agricultural products with U.S. agricultural exports to Japan totaling $15.6 billion in 2021.The U.S remains the largest foreign supplier of food and agricultural products to Japan (which relies heavily on imports) with 22 percent of import market share. The U.S. has a reputation as a global leader in high food-safety standards, and has a reputation as a reliable supplier with large production capacity. About 90 percent of U.S. agricultural products have zero or preferential tariffs and the U.S. products generally have lower prices than domestic products. Additionally, Japanese consumers view U.S. products favorably due to the increased influence of western flavors in the market and the diverse range of products offered by U.S. exporters.

FOODEX Japan is the only trade show in the Asia-Pacific region that welcomes 10,000 buyers from over 30 countries & regions, including buyers from South Korea, Taiwan and China. It is an excellent and effective opportunity for exhibitors, to promote products and to expand into Asian markets.
