Hong Kong Inbound Trade Mission - Seafood

In 2024, Hong Kong imported $331 million of agricultural products from southern United States, which was the 44th highest amongst all countries. Hong Kong will long remain a key importer of food and agricultural products in the world because it will always rely on imports to fulfill its local food supply. Hong Kong’s economy is predicted to grow between 2.5 to 3.5% in 2024. 

Hong Kong is one of the top markets in the world for food and beverages and processed, fresh, and frozen gourmet products. Retail value sales rose by 1% in 2024 to HKD2.4 billion. In 2024, total value sales of seafood products from the southern United States reached $19 million, 7th highest amongst all countries. U.S. suppliers that register with SUSTA for this activity will have the benefit of exploring the Hong Kong market at a very low cost.
