First Look at Event Feedback

3-12-2025

Big Picture Report: March 2024
Bernadette Wiltz-Lang, SUSTA

It’s March, and we already have enough feedback to start looking at how our programs are faring in 2025. The success of these shows and trade missions is not always immediately evident as export sales usually take time to execute. But capturing company feedback right after an event is a good bellwether for what the results might be.

Here’s a comment from a SUSTA participant at the 2025 IPM Essen Show in Germany in January:

“This is the best international tradeshow for horticulture. The SUSTA booth is the only way a small company can effectively exhibit … and afford to exhibit. All of the pre-show communication is easy and informative. There is nothing I can add to make this show better. It's already so good!”

That is great feedback to hear.Especially about the pre-show communication, which is why this company rated this show as 5 out of 5.

Another company reported, “… we appreciate the opportunity that SUSTA provides. Thanks!” That company is projecting $2 million in sales from Fruit Logistica in February 2025.

In all, 11 companies from 22 Congressional Districts in 20 states made sales in the first three months of 2025 to-date (and it is only mid-March when I am writing this) at IPM Essen, Gulfood and Fruit Logistica. We will have five more Global Events before the quarter is up!

Last year, in 2024, we also received good feedback from participants.

  • The chefs hired by SUSTA on site played a pivotal role in promoting our new products by making attractive dishes with our algal products. This was a very effective way to draw attention from visitors to new products like ours.
  • The buyers are mostly high-quality buyers with good interest in our products! We will follow up for further development.
  • We are very satisfied with the event and have lots of expectations, … Thank you so much for all the support
  • The Fancy Food show buyer meetings with those from India helped provide valuable information about their market and what to work towards with a new distributor we are working with there for our snack products.
  • The Inbound Trade Mission before this Show was very good because the buyers from other countries are high quality customers and they were serious looking for products of USA.
