The USDA Agricultural Trade Office (ATO) at the American Institute in Taiwan is pleased to announce the virtual pet food trade show event that will take place August 17 to 19, 2021. The virtual trade show will link U.S. exporters of pet food products to potential buyers in Taiwan.
Taiwan’s pet food imports have more than doubled over the past decade, growing from US$88 million in 2010 to US$194 million in 2020. The United States is the leading supplier of premium pet food and treats to Taiwan. ATO Taipei will provide a unique opportunity for U.S. pet food product exporters to expand into the Taiwan market by connecting one-on-one with potential buyers through virtual business-to-business meetings set up in advance by FAS.
Participants will have the opportunity to learn about trade and economic conditions in Taiwan market to support future export decisions. Interested U.S. exporters can download the Taiwan pet food market brief to learn more about Taiwan pet food market.
Please note that pet food manufacturers must apply to the Taiwanese government for inspection and approval of their production facility. Samples from unapproved facilities are also not allowed to enter Taiwan. Details of export requirements can be found in the Taiwan pet food market brief.
