Louisiana Exporter in over 80 Countries Thanks to the Market Access Program
Crown Products is an export trading company of food products that has been growing their exports with the help of the Southern United States Trade Association since the 1990’s. The Metairie, Louisiana-based company participates in both Global Events and CostShare, maximizing SUSTA’s support and gaining international success. They currently sell their main products, which include popcorn, millet, and sunflower seeds along with value-added grocery staples like mayonnaise, peanut butter and canned vegetables, to over 80 countries!
Even a seasoned exporter with established relationships cannot set cruise control; they are constantly working to maintain relationships and find new ones. Crown Products accomplishes this by exhibiting at major trade shows each year – Gulfood in the Middle East and SIAL Paris and ANUGA on alternating years to tap into the European market. They also participate in trade missions and trade shows in Central and South America.
“These major trade shows are necessary for us to maintain and grow our exports. We couldn’t exhibit and travel to these shows without the support of SUSTA. The CostShare (Branded) program makes it financially feasible for us to be there,” said David Lee, Vice President, Crown Products.
“This year at Gulfood (2023), people were looking for us at the show! U.S. products have a great reputation internationally, and people want to source products from a company they have seen at the show year after year and from a brand that they recognize.”
